Hello Pilgrims!

This is an updated version of the email that was sent out on Tuesday, March 19th!

First up, updates that were not in the last email:

  • Registration: the Registration desk is in the Convention Center building across from the elevators on the main floor and opens at 3 pm Thursday! It will close briefly for Opening Circle at 5, and then will open once that is over! Registration will stay open until 8 pm, re-opening in the morning at 8!
  • DEVOTEES: You will receive your own email shortly, but know that you can arrive anytime after 10 am on Wednesday!
  • TALENT SHOW! If you want to participate in the talent show, we want you! If you are going to perform something that needs audio, PLEASE fill out this form and follow the instructions to get the audio to us ahead of time! Find Form Here!
  • SWIMSUIT!!! There is a lovely hot tub and heated pool at the hotel! Bring your swim suits! They provide towels at the pool!
  • PHOTOGRAPHERS: We are looking for a photographer (or two!) who would be interested in helping take official festival photos! Interested? Reach out to Bella! bella@atcwicca.org
  • FAMILY RECIPES: Hestia is making a recipe book of your favorite family or sacred recipes! She would love if you contributed one.
  • The new SMF Compendium will be given to you at registration, don't you worry!

We are less than one week away from getting to see you at Spring Mysteries Festival!! We are so excited to see you. We have so many fantastic things planned for you. Be sure to read thoroughly, and maybe print this out and check it off, so you will be properly prepared!

Is there a sacred service opportunity? - Yes! The Goddess gives each of Her children an opportunity to serve within the Holy City, so that She may reward you with the blessings that come with it. This is part of your initiatory experience.

Should I bring food? - We recommend it! Bringing a cooler with food is a great way to save time and money (and you can use the ice from the ice machines to refresh!). There is so much to do, you won’t want to miss any of it. Grab and Go meals/snacks are a blessing. There is a restaurant in the hotel, and there are multiple restaurants and fast-food locations around the hotel, as well. Delivery apps like Uber, DoorDash, Grubhub, etc. are a great way to get food. (you can even get items from local grocery stores through those apps!)

What do I need to bring for rituals? - There will be several times during rituals that you will have the opportunity to give offerings. Below, is a list of these opportunities. Please consider and prepare beforehand! None of these are required, but appreciated. There will be offerings available for purchase at festival.

  • Lanyards: your nametag will hang off a lanyard! If you have a fun one you love and want to bring it to use, totally encouraged! We do have lanyards on-site.
  • An Offering to Demeter (to be given during Parade to the Sea)
  • Drums, Rattles, Celebratory Instruments and Tools! (for Parade to the Sea)
  • A coin for Charon during Lessers 2 (any coin will do!)
  • An Offering to Persephone, Queen of the Underworld (to be given during Lesser Mysteries Part 2)
  • Offerings for any of the following deities during Hiereia Deuro - aka Shrine Time
  • *IF YOU ARE BRINGING AN ITEM AND DONATING TO A TEMPLE, PLEASE READ THIS!* If you would like to fill out this form pre-emptively, that is great! We ask that all pilgrims giving donations fill out this form if it is an item of significant worth that will stay with the temple for years to come, or if there is a story behind the item. There will be QR codes on-site to fill out there as well!
  • Fill out form here!
  • You can also mail these donations to the church ahead of time, or after the festival. The mailing address is at the bottom of this email!

  • Festival T-Shirts are available for Pre-purchase – If you want to pick up your shirt at registration, please buy one here before the end of day March 20th. You can buy them here: https://moonstonesgifts.com/products/breadcult-t-shirt
  • We wear Formal Robes to Opening Ritual. If you have robes that you would like to wear from your tradition, please do so in Opening Ritual. We are always excited to see the sacred pageantry.
  • If you purchased a ticket for and are attending the Archpriesthood Dinner, that is a semi-formal sit-down dinner. This is an opportunity for you to dress up and enjoy a wonderful meal while community elders share news about upcoming church opportunities, leadership tips, and inspiration. If you want a ticket, email bella@atcwicca.org and ask her to add it to your ticket, asap. This must be bought early, so the hotel has food for you.

Friday:

  • Friday Morning - Parade to the Sea - This is the historic roots of today's Easter Parade, where you will be purified for the rites to come. After Parade you get an opportunity to visit with the Gods in their shrines. You may wish to dress up for this, whatever makes you feel sacred and ready to commune with the Gods.
  • We will have the Paris Fashion Show on Friday Night after the concert! Wear your full glamour, finest witchy outfits, your brilliant creations, whatever you want to show the judges! Our judges are none other than Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera! No golden apples will be present here… ;)

Saturday:

  • This year, the Goddess has said she would love for the pilgrims to wear white to the Lesser Mysteries, Part 1 and 2! This is traditional to the ancient mysteries. You can purchase a Goddess Dress Bundle, with Himation and a pin on sale for your convenience, you can pick it up at registration. Here is a link to purchase ahead of time, Sizes and colors will go fast so get yours now. https://moonstonesgifts.com/products/goddess-dress-bundle (Note: wearing white is not required, just suggested)
  • We highly encourage pilgrims to wear Greek Garb while at the festival and help create the fun and pageantry of the event! No crowns, please, we wouldn't want to mistake you for a cast member and put you to work.
  • Saturday Night Banquet - The Divine Reception will be catered with Greek hors d'oeuvres (free for registered pilgrims, wear your badge) followed by a toga party with a cash bar. Please come dressed in your toga, Greek garb or witchy finery to go seamlessly from Banquet to ritual to party.

Sunday:

  • We're having a Onesie party Sunday morning at the restaurant breakfast buffet! Wear your onesie, your fun PJ’s, whatever makes you feel happy, and let us celebrate with one last meal together before the mysteries conclude! (Breakfast is not included in the price of your ticket)

Take this pilgrimage with examined forethought. What do you hope to rid yourself of, and what do you hope to gain? Think and pray on this, you'll have an opportunity to express your intent in ritual.

From this point, until March 31st, you are a pilgrim, joining a worldwide community on the road to Eleusis, the sacred city of the Goddess Demeter, under the watchful eye of the Gods themselves. Start this journey at your earth temple. Consider the modern day shrines and temples you pass through, such as all places involving transportation are sacred to Hermes. I always leave a dime for Him there, on the road to Eleusis. Maybe a prayer to Demeter as you eat. Drop a coin for Charon as you cross large bodies of water. There are many ways to make this journey sacred. Let it start now, prayerfully, mindfully, planning and packing and with the Gods.

Thank you for joining us, we look forward to seeing you there. If you have questions, please write bella@atcwicca.org, or call (404)-988-4199.

Blessings, and see you soon, Pilgrim!
